Cutting Edge Systems was founded in April 2002 by me, Allan Green, a commercial engineer with a background in Industrial Computer Controls, mostly gained when working in the food processing industry.
My computer training began in the 70’s while working at Blue Circle Cement at Gt.Blakenham near Ipswich in Suffolk. Things were much different then. The leading computers were Commodore PET’s using the DOS operating system. Microsoft was just launching Windows, which quickly took over the office world making wordprocessors and typewriters redundant. My first programme was written in “Basic” and calculated the Electricity Requirements for the Blue Circle Cement Factory, which was a Huge Electricity User (Consuming Electricity at 6.0 Meggar-Watt-Hours at peak times). I remember the huge mainframe computer at the then Civic College in Ipswich, when it took until next day to retrieve a printout of my previous evenings programming. (A task that could now be completed on the most basic home pc in minutes.). I have spent most of my working life working with computers in some form or other. I write computer programmes and subroutines in VB, Delphi and C.
All through my career, I listened to people complaining about computers.
